I have aches and pains, Headaches, sore throat, fever, amoxicillin not helping?

2 Answers Hello, I have bad headaches, aches and pains, along with a sore throat and a fever, and no runny nose. I went to the doctor and did an instant test for strep and the results came back negative but they are treating it as strep, the doctor gave me amoxicillin. I've been taking it for two days now and I still have a fever, my fever was 100 degrees Fahrenheit. So I took Tylenol and my fever went down quickly and I feel better. I started feeling sick on Saturday and overall my aches and pains and headaches are not as bad anymore. My throat still hurts but why do I still have a fever, doesn't the amoxicillin make the fever go away? And when my fever started again I started to feel aches and pains again, what's going on? |

| Amoxicillin sometimes doesn't suit the patient and is not strong enough to fight the infection. You have a fever because there is an infection in your system. You should go back to the doctor and ask if you can have a stronger antibiotic. Amoxicillin does not work for me. Tick | ||||
