Check the Transcend website for some software tools (such as format, etc.), that you can use to configure the flash drive.

back in my day usb flash drives had a little switch, on one side was a lock icon that was closed, the other side the lock was open... does yours not have this? The unlocked lock means not write protected!

Hello,

If you do not have any data on it.

Try the following.

In windows XP. Go to start. select run.

give command cmd.

Dos prompt will open.

Here type FORMAT X: /FS:FAT32 /Q /V:PenDrive, Replace X with the drive letter of Pen Drive and press Enter, this should format your pen drive and the virus would be gone.

Thanking You,
Mufaddal H bootwala.

then uncheck the option "Enable Write chching on the disk"

if this option is not showing up

Go to Ragistry - My Computer/HEKEY LOCAL MATCHINE\Currentcontrolset\controle\
right click on controle click new and create new ragistry named "StorageDevicePolicy"
right click on storagedeviceolicy create new DWORD and set value 0 to deactivate write protection.
