ipod won't charge

I have a problem my ipod won't charge and the apple website doesn't help your advice would be much appreciated.

Won't charge? Is this via the mains charger AND the USB cable? Have you tried a friends charger? Maybe you could take the IPOD to a local shop and they can try a new charger. I had a problem where the charger had packed up. Ebay resolved that problem.

How old is it? IPods had a notorious problem with poor-quality batteries that degraded to the point of useless over a few years. (and that it wasn't easy to replace batteries yourself, so there was a big mess trying to get a new battery).

I think this is fixed in newer ipods.

Hmm, I would guess it's a duff charger then. Do you charge it often? The less often you charge it, the less likely it is to be the battery.
