What to do about "disruptive" neighbors?

I have a new neighbor that moved into my apartment building the beginning of this month. On several occasions I have heard her having sex! Last night I was trying to go to sleep and heard it loud and clear at 12:30am! Then again this morning and I've heard it two other occasions in the ohhhh, ten days that's she's lived here! I live in a courtyard building where there is about ten feet of space between my windows and hers (and everyone else's for that matter). In the case of last night her windows were wide open and mine were closed. Plus my living room almost shares a wall with her bedroom. Now, I feel like its just common sense and courtesy when you live in an apartment building to be mindful of those living around you. I really don't like listening to the soundtrack of a porno movie, especially when I am trying to go to sleep. Anyway, now I go to bed on edge wondering if I'm going to be disrupted while I'm trying to sleep. What can I do?? I feel like its not like knocking on someone's door and asking them to turn their music down. This would be way too awkward. Should I write a note and leave it on her door? Call the apartment management company?? Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

try leaving a note first, she might feel embaressed and start closing the window or quieting down, than if that fails i would talk to the appartment manager

Thanks for your input star. I was thinking the least confrontational way possible would be best. I know how it goes in the moment. No one really has their neighbors on their mind!
