Should women give men roses?

Being that the holiday Valentine's Day is right around the corner, i was wondering about some questions. My boyfriend and i have been together on Valentines day for 4 years. So this is a very big Anniversary. I love him so dearly. Just kinda stuck!! We do not currently live together but we may or may not rent a hotel room. Every other year we just would grab a pizza (because he loves pizza) and he give me flowers and call it a night.

Question 1:
Is it okay to send the guy you love a red rose? I mean it does mean love right.

Question 2:
I want to do something that he will least expect. Something so different. What would you suggest?

THIS IS INTENDED FOR EVERYONE TO ANSWER. PAST VALENTINE IDEAS, PRESENT IDEAS, ECT.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

1)Roses are great my wife used to give me 1 for every anniversary until it got to be more than 12, then she had to scale back.
2)Give him a nice steak candle light dinner, make the table fancy with whatever you have.Put the roses in the center in a vase with a nice card addressed to him with how you feel about him and how special it is to spend 4 years together with him.

I would give him the rose(s) but he might be disappointed if he doesn't get the pizza too.

Have a real romantic pizza dinner ---fancy table cloth, china, candles, rose(s) centerpiece,

He loves pizza, right??

I wonder....

I'm just throwing something out here because it sounds like a pretty cool idea....

I wonder if you could call a local pizzeria and see if they could "write" I love you with pepperoni or toppings??? That would be a real neat surprise and something that would completely shock him!

What do you think??? Are there any small town pizzerias around you that may be up for a V-day gift like that??

(Roses for men? Why not?? )

make him a nice dinner, like chicken and some cake or something. MAKE it though. he will appreciate.
then twist his bacon if you catch my drift.
he will remember this.
