Hello, I have an etiquette question i wonder if you could help with. My husband and I have been happily married for 22 years and together for almost 29 years. We have two children, a girl 19 and a boy 15. Yesterday was my mother-in-law's birthday, and as usual we went out for a family dinner to celebrate. At the dinner my husband's sister who is engaged to be married, presented my mother-in-law with a necklace. The charm on the necklace was of a gold tree. The branches on the tree had 6 birthstones on it. Each birthstone depicted one of 6 family members from top to bottom... my mother-in-law, father-in-law, my husband, his sister, and my two children. My birthstone was not represented at all on this tree. My question is, am I wrong to feel left out of this family tree? I'd appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

You should have been included on the family tree if you and your husband produced two natural children. That is what a family tree is all about. Could she have forgotten you somehow ?

My guess is she was including only the mother's husband and direct blood line.
if she had included her fiance or intended to add him then it would be wrong but if her intent was husband and direct bloodline then Iwould think it is not wrong.
maybe after his sister is married you could do a charm of in-laws
