Guy has 3 cats: weird or not?

So... there's this guy.

He has 3 cats.

I find it a little weird. Is it just me?

Guys are supposed to have dogs, sometimes reptiles, but three cats?

Whoa.

Is it my problem or does this guy have a problem?

And yes, he talks about his 3 cats a lot. He gets really defensive if I giggle or make stunned faces when he starts talking about them like people and tells me how much he misses them.

Ha. I just want your opinion.

Am I being a jerk? Or is 3 cats 1 guy just....weird?

Sarah

It's true Red.

My dogs love everyone except this one guy that my husband works with. Whenever he comes Chewy and Indy stay clear, Jasper just sits by him and growls.

I don't like the guy, never have, there's just something about him that bugs me but I can't put my finger on it. He's annoying, but that isn't the only thing I don't like.

My daughter won't even say hi to him. I asked her why the last time he came over, she said "he reminds me of a bad guy in a movie, you know the one that everyone thinks is okay but then he steals your teddy bear and you never see it again". What can I say, she's 7.

you cant fault a smart kid...animals and kids just know stuff that we dont...they listen to their instincts and we as adults try to rationalise our feelings.

Hey men can love cats just as much as dogs. Cats are less maintenance than most women. Dogs are high maintenance like a lot of women I have met. I have had both types of pets and women, and frankly prefer less maintenance and drama that a cat provides.

You are being way to uptight about a pet. Perhaps you should try going to an animal shelter and surround yourself with dogs and cats and see which one you prefer.

asking agrees: women are NOT higher maintenance than men, who want to be fed, have their laundry done, their socks picked up, and on and on!

I hope this is tongue in cheek.

This is not just "a pet" to this guy. It sounds like he's obsessed. And as far as the remark about women, I'm not one, and I found your answer insulting.

Comments on this post
Altenweg agrees: Get him! :)
JudyKayTee agrees: Oh, good - I thought maybe I was being over sensitive.

Get a grip. Plus, Judy didn't make the offensive post.

JudyKayTee disagrees: Speaking of getting a grip - he isn't addressing me.

I wrote it with a bit of humor intended, but obviously the shoe fit differently than I intended. It is a pet, some people don't like any pets. I'm dating a girl now that doesn't like my cats, and basically told me that when the cats are gone she would consider moving in but she doesn't want to live with cats and a cat box. I agree they can be smelly and shed on her clothes. But I'm not ready to dump my cats, they are getting older, and I've had them for 12 years.

Ren6 agrees: I apologize, GD.

This is the part I found offensive: "Dogs are high maintenance like a lot of women I have met. I have had both types of pets and women, and frankly prefer less maintenance and drama that a cat provides."

I didn't read this to be about people liking or disliking pets.
