Guy has 3 cats: weird or not?

So... there's this guy.

He has 3 cats.

I find it a little weird. Is it just me?

Guys are supposed to have dogs, sometimes reptiles, but three cats?

Whoa.

Is it my problem or does this guy have a problem?

And yes, he talks about his 3 cats a lot. He gets really defensive if I giggle or make stunned faces when he starts talking about them like people and tells me how much he misses them.

Ha. I just want your opinion.

Am I being a jerk? Or is 3 cats 1 guy just....weird?

Sarah

Yup, that's probably true. It works the other way too. My husband's parents hated cats, so, when their kids were small, got a dog ("Savage") who rolled around in disgusting things outside, who peed when excited, who had to be taken for walks, who, when indoors, was like a bull in a china shop, who slobbered on whoever was petting him. No wonder my husband loves cats.

Hello again, Sarah:

I really DOES depend on your own personal prejudices... Personally, I think owning a reptile is pretty faggy...

Another point to consider is this Sarah, the guy must have a good sense of his masculinity if he feels cool about being a cat person. He is confident enough to step out of the stereotype and do his own thing.
He is embracing his feminine side and there is nothing wrong with that...

Hello artsy:

Bingo.

Men who inherently have NO masculinity, try to make up for it by the truck they drive, the PIT BULL they own, or the beer they drink.

Sooooo...

I tried to broaden my horizons.... and this is how it went.

I tried saying sorry. It went like this:

Ring Ring Ring

Guy: Hello?

Me: Hi, it's me. I just wanted to say sorry for being such a jerk.

Guy: Oh yea... about what?

Me:....your cats..

Guy: Meh it's alright, I love my cats.

A scoff and a giggle comes out

Me: sorry. I'm just not used to it.

Guy: You know you are a jerk. I'll call you some other time.

Me: Whatever- go have sex with your cats freak show.

-click-

....yeah.. I don't see a relationship in the near future.

sigh.

Sarah

Obviously. I am a jerk.

Sigh

Hi, mudweiser!

Other than with the cats, is there another person living with the guy? Also, if he has a yard, how large is it, please?

Thanks!

Define weird.

The way I see it, we're all a little weird - but most of us keep it inside. (Weird is in the eye of the beholder also.) However, with some of us the 'weird' is a little more obvious .. it's on the outside.

A guy with three cats doesn't raise an eyebrow for me - my husband had 2 canaries when I met him. Is that weird? I didn't think it was, but someone might.

Perhaps it's about not making judgements ... it's all part of the rich tapesty of life!

artlady agrees: If we all stopped listening to that judge that we grew up wit and followed our hears we would be so much better off..IMOP. Ha ha :)
