Right now there is no draft - just a volunteer armed forces. This could change in the future though as nothing is certain. Tell everyone to stop worrying until the time comes.

well what nation do you live in, I do not know if Canada has a draft or not, but the US has no draft and no plans on bringing one back

I know some nations do have required service of all young people, so do you live in one of those nations ?

In the US if they do start a draft again, yes he could be drafted and most likely women would also be drafted in a new draft ( that is a guess)

I heard a military commercial on the radio that all guys have to register when they turn 18 but there is no draft and he would have to enlist to serve. BUT I really believe there could be a draft in the future if things get uglier with Iran.
With Saving Private Ryan they are not suppose to take an only or last son. But who knows with the way things go.

They can't send him to a war zone, but can draft them ( at least unless things have changed

I am an only son and I was subject to the draft in 1966. I was not drafted but only because I enlisted in the US Navy.
