How would you find a person by there maiden name on the internet without having to pay for it?

I am sorry but what is facebook or myspace? Where/how does one find them? Please forgive my ignorance but I believe that it is by asking that one learns something.

If the person is in the U.S., The Web's Largest People Search by Background Check, Public Records Search, E-Mail Address - Find People and Search Business at PeopleFinders.com is one site where you can frequently find both the married and maiden names of women for free. Possible locations and ages are also listed for free. There is also some additional information that you can get there, but you have to pay a small fee then for the service.
