    Background/Criminal Check
I posted a few months ago about a man my mother has started dating. The whole situation with him is so suspicious that I'm worried. He recently got arrested for something that he supposedly went to jail for in Florida a few months ago. Since he wouldn't be arrested for the same thing twice, I really want to know what is going on and if there are other crimes that he's committed. Is there any way that I can do this without having to pay a website for a background check? If anyone on here has resources to help I can give out his name. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much!

I have been convicted of several felonies. It is getting more difficult to find a good job, do to background checks. It has been over ten years since my last conviction. I have finally grown up.Its funny how things snowball.I don't have any sex crimes or murder it's all just stupid mistakes growing up and hanging with the wrong crowd. Not to blame anyone for my stupidity.I just want to know has anyone tried to get there felonies expunged or pardoned? I have noticed there a lot of companies claiming to have this done to your record, provided enough time has elapsed.Ofcourse certain types of convictions I'm certain may not apply.

I really wouldn't want to know his name because even if he is a criminal it violates the freedom of information act, at least where I live.

Is he doing anything that your mother doesn't like, does she seem to be happy being with him and is he good to her?

Can't you just confront him and find out what he is up to and what he wants ?

Well, the whole story was him and my mom met and then he went down to Florida to do some work. Every single time he was supposed to be coming back he came up with some kind of excuse - car accident, arrested, sick, etc. He supposedly got into a car accident and totalled his truck. Two weeks later he was arrested for a warrant. Now, why wouldn't they have arrested him when he wrecked his truck? Anyway... he finally ended up coming back up here over a month later than he promised my mom. She wants to believe what he says so she does, whether it makes sense or not. She's blinded. She even flew down to Atlanta to visit him when he was in Florida and he never picked her up at the airport! What a jerk.

So anyway, asking him about it won't do any good. He just lies!

    Hello Tara and excon dude:

Tara. No, you'll have to pay for a background check.

excon dude. If you have money to pay one of these services, hire an attorney instead. I don't know if certain felonies don't apply. You don't either.

I would call the police department where he lived at and ask some questions, I know from experience that a lot of times they will talk esp. if he is a con man or a trouble maker. I would also get on the court website for that area. I know where I live we can get info on people from the clerk of courts. If it is public records it is not violating anyone's right, at least nt here in Ohio. If you are suspicious of him trust your gut instinct and check him out.

Im not sure about a backround check, but here in Michigan we have a website calledthe offender tracking information system (OTIS). I do not know if they have something like this for other states but it lists all there offences, convictions, probation, jail time spent, alias's etc... Ive actually found a lot of people I know were on there and I never new they had ever been arrested.
