My quick thoughts:

-They will never commit another crime
-Some people see justice in the state taking the life of someone who has been convicted of committing (usually) heinous crimes (i.e. multiple murders, repeated crimes against children/women/elderly)
-Taxpayers do not have to pay for his meals, shelter, and healthcare

Just some quick thoughts.

Some also feel that if the consequences are carried out in a more timely manner, instead of someone being on death row for years, and years, that it may be more of a deterrent for some.
