Network tasks and Other places column has disapeared

Hi when I click on My Network Places the left hand column with the title Network Tasks and Other Places no longer appears on the left hand side. Does anybody know how I make it appear? Thanks

Double-click My Network Places
Click Tools > Folder Options from the Window's menu
Under the Folder Options General tab click the "Show common tasks in folders" radio button
Click OK

Ahh, that's indeed very true. For me I still didn't see the network tasks, at first. My problem was that I also had the folder list displayed and this supersedes the network tasks, silly me!

So;

1) Ensure "Show common tasks in folders" is ticked as Olivesandtrees points out (thanks!).
2) Ensure there is no special explorer bar enabled, View > Explorer Bar > Untick any ticked bars.
