end task

I have a new Microsoft XP computer and can not learn how to "end task" the running programs to install an Anti-virus program. Please tell me how.

Simply hold down the CTRL and ALT keys simultaneously and then hit the DEL or (delete) key once. This will open the End Task window so that you can close other running programs.
