Basically you don't have a hope, UNLESS this was through a client, as mentioned, and there is still a copy on the server.

Can't gmail do a recovery for their subscribers, even for a small fee?

I found an easy solution to recover my deleted gmails. I configured my Microsoft Office out look 2007 to receive g-mails. It is pop3 with incoming: pop.gmail.com and outgoing: smtp.gmail.com. When I clicked send/receive I received all the 453 mails from the server!
I am 64 years old retired Mechanical Engineer and I am proud that I could solve my own problem which many computer experts couldn't solve.
Thanks,
Ross

If the mails were still on the server, they weren't deleted. But yes, I also use POP3 to get my gmail mail so its stored on my system.
