| Re: dedicated servers Yes and no. If you get a dedicated web server, what you put on it is mostly your own concern (within the rules of the hosting ISP of course - re porn, spam, etc).
BUT ... you will normally only get one IP address with your machine, and pay a hefty premium if you want more. IP addresses are like beachfront real estate - very rare and quite expensive.
You can host multiple domains within one IP address, but you really need to know what you are doing, and it's more easily done on a Unix machine. Even then, there are limitations - about 8 domains per IP, and not too busy web sites either.
You will need to shop around carefully. If you have a business idea, perhaps you need to consider partnering with a web hosting company to overcome some of these limitations.
