    Who made clayton sewing machines in 1898
    I have a very old sewing machine it says clayton on the machine and iron where the pedel is as well and made around 1898. Who made it and where can I found more on it

    Hi, RWProp79!

    It could be a "badged" machine. Which means that the name of the company that might have sold it is on the machine rather than the actual manufacturer.

    Is there a place listed anywhere on it? You might actually have to look underneath or even inside some parts of it.

    Also, how do you know that it was made around 1898, please?
