    Work over the summer
I need to find a job over the summer. I am not an upper classman and I was wondering if anyone knew any good places for someone who is under 18 to work. And please, try to avoid Mc Donalds and Burger King.

Try contacting your local Parks and Recreational Department. Most of the time they're looking for students to do summer work.

You could also try looking at summer camps (think of the YMCA) as a counselor or junior counselor.

I had a friend who worked summers for the DNR while in high school, and another that worked construction for the city we lived in, but I have no idea how one would go about applying for that sort of position.

If you like kids, you could look at daycare centers, since during the summer they tend to have more kids (summer break and all) and hire summer help for that.
