Talk to an Army recruiter and an Air Force recruiter and get a feel for each of them.

I have a son in the Army in Iraq in Armory
and two daughters in the Air Force C 130 mechanics and they all like it.

If you're old enough to enlist you're old enough to pick the branch of Service in which you want to serve and tell your mother that that's your decision.

I don't understand how your mother's lies are keeping you out of the Service.

N0help4u agrees: My guess is she is telling him horror stories of how bad it is in the army

Again - you wait until you are legal age to join and then you tell her what your plans are. At this time I don't see the point of arguing with her - you're too young to join, anyway.

Hi, ibical01!

I agree, that it would be best for you to wait until you're old enough and then make a decision on your own.

There's no real need for you to feel any pressure right now.

Thanks!

I agree with Judy and Clough. One of the main things I learned in life is not to discuss my plans until the time is right. All it does before hand is getting people to argue what they want and think.

in three years you may want to go to college or be a plumber, no real need to decide today.

I am sure her concern is safety,
