went to a job interview

Hi all.
went to a job interview at a video store, need a night job.
any way they said the pay is competitive with other vidoe stores.
what does this mean? I dont know how much other video stores pay their employers.
Also they said the final hiring process was a test, what kind of test would it be?

A competitive salary is one that is equal to or better than other equivalent jobs. So if one video store pays £6 an hour this one will as well or £6.20.

Sorry don't know about the test.

I would call around to other video stores and ask them what the starting pay is. That way you will know if they are truly competitive.

Why don't you ask them what kind of test.
