Bartender and going nowheres

I'm 19 years old and i have had my bartending and safe beverage service certificate since april of 2006 and up til now i still have not been able to gain any experience in my field. without experience i cannot get anywheres and i am fearing that i have possibly chosen the wrong career... now i feel stuck between a rock and a hard place... during my school years i fell in love with history, mainly egyptian and aztec culture and buildings... are there any fields that i may be suited for and are there any collages in N.S for a job in that career path.. please help me
