Truck driving jobs for felons?

You are in a difficult position as you know. Major companies either won't hire someone with a felony or there will be a time period (often no felonies in the previous 7-10 years) involved.

Part of this is simply company policy, a major part of it is that it can be difficult to get insurance overage.

You will find that even with a fair number of years OTR, you still wouldn't get hired on. An option might be trying smaller local companies in the area that you live.

Check out the websites of the major companies, they usually will state their minimum requirements including those in relation to any criminal charges. Some may be more lenient than others and if you can continue to gain more experience from a local company, then you can make the transition to a major one.

Companies both large and small will often have drivers for their own fleet as well as contracting with owner operators.

You could look into running your own truck as a sole proprietor, check the load boards for jobs, etc., but you would likely run into the issue of insurance again even on your own. That would take making phone calls to insurance providers to see what they require and seeing if that would be a viable option for you at this time or not.
