Help on Sound engineering

Hi--I went to Fulsale technical school in Florida for sound engineering. The problem is that I have been looking up and down for a good stable career in my field, but the technology has changed so much that you can have your own recording studio at home on your comp. and don't need people like me anymore...my credits from that school don't transfer to it seems any college I want to apply to. I ahve my associates from there, and don't wnat to start all over again---is there any career after sound engineering at all?
