want a guide of basic sound engineering

I am Rubel Barua from Bangladesh. Here is no sound engineering school or college. But i professionally work in a sound company last 2 years. Now i want better sound on live. I've a little knowledge of live sound engineering. I face some problem when working live sound. I don't know how to gate monitor noise and want to create nice sound in stage monitor. At this moment i want some guide lines. Please help me and answer me as early as possible.
