Boss angry, employee sent home

If your boss is annoyed because you left work to take your child to school and your wife could not because other child had severe ear infection; and you were punished by being sent home although you have much work to do. The boss referred to it as punishment for standing up for myself and did not believe the "child at home sick" reason. No this is not a usual happenstance. Is this action legal?

We don't have all the details to give a perfectly suited answer but yes, it is his perrogative to send you home. In many industries he could terminated you if you are an at will employee. You could have taken a sick day or portion of one in most places of employment. Hope you're not a heart surgeon.

please do what my husband does. if you need to take of for health reson (you child) take a personal or vacation day. your boss does not care what reason you left, you left, work was not done, you probably was angry at the situation and maybe was a little defensive. to him when you are not there he is losing money. try not to take it personaly.
