it is ibs, or could it be something else?

for years i have been complaining on a rumbling, grumbling stomach. recently it has got a lot worse and also other annoyances such as permanently feeling bloated, having wind and horrdenous abdominal pains (usually the lower left side). for about 10 months now i have been opening my bowels between 2 and 4 times a day, usually straight after breakfast and then 2/3 times in the evening after my evening meal. The past couple of weeks the stools have become loose and i have found the abdominal pain and bloating and wind getting worse. I went to the doctors and they sent me packing, saying it is probably ibs. however this weekend i have been in the most pain ever and also lost an awfully large amount of blood in my stools. i have been back to the doctors and they gave me some tablets to ease the pain. i asked about tests but they said its nothing to wirry about. please help me, is this anything to worry about, could i have coeliac as this is in the family and although i cannot quite distinguish a pattern i notice regular aches afer i eat wheat. i feel like im one to myself, is anyone else out there experiencing similar issues? its gettin my really down, as i cannot live a normal life anymore! please help!
