[font="Verdana"][color="Indigo"]From what I understand, glutathione must be manufactured and recycled within the body at the cellular level. Taking a supplement pill of glutathione would be destroyed in your stomach before it can be absorbed in the cell wall.

where there not warnings about high dosage

Very high doses of NAC have been shown in one study in animals to have the potential to do damage to the heart and lungs.

S-nitrosothiols signal hypoxia-mimetic vascular pathology. Journal of Clinical Investigation 2007 Sep;117(9): 2592-601. Accessed December 12, 2007. PMID 17786245

Similar effects on the lungs have been seen in humans at more moderate doses.

Effect of N-acetyl-cysteine on the hypoxic ventilatory response and erythropoietin production: linkage between plasma thiol redox state and O(2) chemosensitivity." Blood 2002 Mar 1;99(5):1552-5. PMID 11861267

N-AcetylCysteine (NAC, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) is the amino acid L-Cysteine plus an acetyl (-CO-CH3) group attached to the amino (NH2) group. The acetyl group functions to speed absorption and distribution on orally ingested cysteine. Amino acids which contain a sulfur group have antioxidant properties.

Glutathione (GSH, L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine) is the predominant anti-oxidant in the aqueous cytoplasm of cells. Virtually all cells require glutathione for viability and function. Glutathione is synthesized from three amino acids in a two-step process, beginning with the combination of glutamic acid & cysteine and ending with the addition of glycine. The liver & lungs are the primary sites of glutathione synthesis. Glycine & glutamic acid are plentiful in cells, so it is the availability of cysteine that controls the reaction rate. Neuronal overexpression of the rate-limiting enzyme for glutathione synthesis in transgenic fruit flies has been shown to increase mean and maximum lifespan by up to 50% [JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY; Orr,WC; 280(45):37331-37338 (2005)].

If you think that your brand is well trusted, you should follow their prescription to avoid any danger on your part. since, L-glutathione is an important component of the body's primary antioxidant defense system.
