Can not eating make you stop gorwing?

I was wondering if you don't eat as much food as you should everyday could make you stop growing.
I'm 14 years old and for a few months I haven't been eating as much food as I probably should be eating. I also think that I'm getting shorter or at least not growing at all. I used to be taller than my mum but now I'm about the same height. Could not eating enough food do this?

Yes, not eating enough will stop you growing. It will also make you ill. Talk to your mother or someone you trust about what is happening.

It sounds like you are having a problem with osteoporosis you need to get more calcium and vitamin D and magnesium to help evenly absorb the calcium.
I have always gone without eating lots of times in my life but you need to eat healthy no matter how much or how little you eat.

Nutrition and Osteoporosis

AVOID FLUORIDE combines with calcium to form insoluble calcium fluoride. Several investigators are concerned about the increasing amount of fluoride in water and overall food supply possibly decreasing calcium absorption in a population largely calcium deficient. Start by using natural toothpaste which is free of fluoride.

Also limit junk food, sugar, soda, coffee and tea

Not eating can cause alot of health issues, especially at your age. You bones are in a high growth period and they need all the nutrients that you get out of eating correctly every day. Not eating properly will give you weak and brittle bones and the starts of osteoporosis, which is absolutely something you don't want. You need to eat 3 servings at least, of lowfat or skim dairy products ( lowfat skim milk, yogurt, cheese) every day to help your bones and general growth. Is there a reason your not eating right, are you dieting, if this is the case you still need to eat, just watch what you eat and how much!

Thanks for all your replies

The reason why I don't eat much is because I don't eat breakfast either because I don't have time or I'm not hungry. I don't have lunch when I'm at school because I hate eating in front of other people. I do eat dinner most of the time and I don't eat that much junk food.
