Aspartame in diet snapple

I drink a diet snapple just about every day. Is the aspartame in it going to harm me?

it is a subject of debate. Many people think it has health risks, others do not. I can say that I drink diet drinks daily, and i have no known side effects. but that doesnt mean anything.. you can read about it here Aspartame - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HipHipHooray agrees: Great answer :) So many people are quick to say 'NO it's poison' while others will confidently say 'its perfectly fine'.. but the truth is it's a highly debated subject and i guess you have to decide for yourself.

There has always been alot of talk about artifical sweetners but the studies I've read on aspartame showed me that it was composed of 2 amino acids, (aspartic acid) and phenylalanine (methyl acid), amino acids are the buiding blocks of protein. Aspartic acid is naturally found in protein foods, and Phenylalanine is found in meats, grains and dairy. As well as in fruits, and veggie juice. So of all the choices I don't see how using it can be totally harmful since these acids are found naturally in foods we all eat.
