No,

Most RN scools today do not even teach you how to draw blood as the labs having phlebotomists that do it.

So, I will be graduating in May with my RN, but will never have drawn blood until I am in the clinical setting and the facility teaches their preferred methods.

granmaboat agrees: This is the answer. I am wondering what the real question is based on. Are you afraid? RNs are well trained and aware and prepared for circumstRN are well trained and aware and prepared for sercumstances of possible conntamination. Don't be afraid.

Nice Christmas thank you, and you?

Now, again, we are not taught to take blood, but we ARE taught to give shots, subcutaneous, intramuscular and subdermal....We are taught to insert IVs, etc....Needles Needles everywhere.

Is there a reason for your concern that I could possibly help you with? Is there a fear I could put aside? Or just a general question?

at my uni in australia (although they all do it their own way) we had to watch a video on how to take blood and then the next day we went to a pathology clinic and practised on clients without having practised on each other or dummies.
