Vpn Between States

I have been given a role that i have always wanted in my office and i need good enough information to be able to handle it, though am still on training for my CCNA examination but i need to get this done to raise some cash for that.

We are purchasing a device in my office(info attached) it will be used to take gas monitoring reports for six states, the company we want to do this job for is a communication company and they will be given us a line to connect those location(surely with a fast connection) the device for now doesnt have a manual but the deployment on LAN is very easy(check attached file). All I need is just how to go about creating a connection between this states and making them able to share Data.

Will look into other resources but quick response will be highly appreciated(got a network skill already and familiar with network terminologies)

Thank you

If I comprehend your PDF correctly, all you would need between the locations in the large installation example are routers with VPN support (take a look at Adtran's Netvanta series w/Adv. Sec. Pack for low $$). The links between the sites would terminate on each end at the routers. Instead of the site-to-site links in the example being a private WAN such as frame-relay, they would be replaced with a connection to the public internet - DSL, frame, T1, whatever.

Here are some basic requirements for you to be able to set up VPN tunnels from site to site.

Your Internet connections will require static IP address assignments. This will cost a little more than the standard ISP connection. If you can Quality of Service (QoS) agreements, then that is even better.

If you are going to go to the less expensive end of equipment, make sure that it will support multiple VPN tunnels at the same time and that the encription levels are at least 128-bit or higher.

We have been using Cisco 3005 VPN Concentrators for a multinational VPN based WAN for over 5 years and it has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars over that period of time.
