TrendNet TU2-NU4 USB Network Hub cannot connect in Windows Vista

TU2-NU4 does not work with Windows Vista. I have two PC (desktop and laptop) with Windows Vista and both are giving the same error when I try to Connect to a displayed device (USB Hard Drive):

Operation did not succeed.
Please check network cable and power supply of your device.
You can also:
1. Power off and the power on your device.
2. Restart MFP Server Control Center.
3. Re-connect the USB device and continue with your operation.

The above error message appears no matter what USB device is attached to the network hub. It only works with Windows 7 machine.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? TrendNet has been most unhelpful.

Update: I have returned the USB Network Hub. Given TrendNet unhelpful attitude, I will now hesitate to buy another product from them.

What is it you would like done? Why did you purchase this "hub" in the first place? Maybe we can suggest alternative methods.

I was trying to share my USB printers (Brother MFC and HP Color Laser) over the network. TrendNet Sales Rep. Mentioned that the USB Network Hub can be used to plug in a USB printer and then it will be accessible as a network printer. Since the Wireless Print Servers are not consistent and apparently vendors are not making them anymore, I was told this will work.

Just set up the printer via USB to a PC and there is an option to share the printer on the network so others can view and use that printer. Just because a printer isn't network compatible doesn't mean others can't use it.

Essentially just by connecting it to PC/laptop is making it network compatible.

The problem with this approach is that the PC that has the printer connected as a local printer must be ON for others to share the printer. That's why I was looking for a network printing option without a PC.
