Which router should I use for T1 line

Asked Jul 18, 2008, 06:56 PM — 3 Answers
Hello,

I'm getting a T1 line for our office, after installation what kind of router do I need to create a workgroup of 20 users.
Security, firewall, and being able to connect from home is my goal.
Any idea?

Thanks,
MJN

Well, we can't do your research for you, but you need a router that supports T1 and VPN to connect from home. How many IP addresses are you getting?

It sort of depends on what router operating system software you are familiar with or willing to learn and the other infrastructure devices already in place as well as how critical uptime is to you.

I'm currently using Adtran Netvanta 3000 series routers with enhanced feature pack (VPN) with T1 and ADSL Network Interface Modules (NIM) for low cost implementations with my small and medium business customers and Cisco 2800 series for larger enterprises. I've also used Allied Telesis products.
