Nowhere in my post did I claim that NSLookup is used for determining what ports an IP address is listening on. Using Telnet to determine if the remote address is listening on a port is tops on my list as well but does not show resolved names for you. The original poster asked for an IP address of a host listening on HTTPS. These are two different questions: 1) what is the IP address for the host and 2) is it listening on port 443.

SNOWALPS, to see what ports your own local host is listening or connected to, go to a command prompt and type NETSTAT -A. Without any port filtering, an IP address may be actively listening on hundreds of ports.
