How to connect 2nd PC to network

Hi,

I want to connect another PC on the floor above to my Netgear wireless router. The signal says 'good', but it wont connect. The network is not listed in the Local Area Network screen when I open it, in fact, there is nothing listed there. Windows says it cannot connect, something about 'am I using some other software'. I don't understand it. Can anyone help? Do I have to run the Wireless Network Wizard on this 2nd PC? I have tried it once, but it seems to want me to set up another new network!

In control panel, under Network Connections, there shuold be somthing called "Wireless Network Connection". If it's there, that means your computer sees the wireless card.

Right click on my computer and go to Manage, then click on Device Manager. See if your wireless card is listed under "Network Adapters", and make sure nothing has a red X or a yellow exclamation point by it.

Where does it say the signal is 'Good'? On the computer you are trying to connect to the wireless? If it says that, it might just be security. Do you know what kind of security uis on the wireless router? Usually there will be a password you need (called a Key) to connect to the network.

This is now sorted. I found that I had to put the passkey into the software of the USB wireless adapter. Works fine except signal has dropped to LOW.
