Connect 2 laptops using IEEE 1394

hi, is it possibe to connect/set up a network between 2 laptops (both Compaq nx6115 runng win xp pro) using only an IEEE 1394 cable and no hub etc????? if its possible how???

Yes, you can connect 2 laptops using firewire and a connection can be made between two laptops

... but could you tell me how to get it working... it was easy connecting the 2 laptops but difficult to get it work..... could ypou please give us the procedure...
