How to Connect Two offices via FIBER OPTIC

Hello there,, well i have two offices in same city with about 4,5 KM distance, and now i want to connect both offices with Fiber Optic, i want to run services such as Telephone Network, Internet Services and CCTV on the same,

what equipment or things will i need for this, but medium should be fiber as its fast and reliable.

I'd start off with about 5 Kms of fibre! lol!

Is this theoretical, or are you actually going to do it!?

Good luck finding conduits that won't bend the fiber too much, plus breaking out fiber (splicing) requires very specialized tools.

but need foolproof Formula and exact equipment,, coz i need to do it ma self... we have no fiber experts in our city !!

thanks, i know a person in neighbouring city who has fiber jointer and other fiber stuff but he is doing work in CATV (fiber cable tv network) thingie, so he dont know what i need to do,.

If you are going to use a service provider then you don't necesseraly have to buy any equipment they will provide you with all connections you need but obviously you have to pay for either once-off and monthly connection fee...

It really doesn't matter what data flows through the fiber, once you have it set up end to end then you select what runs through it. You'd need something like this: Fiber Optics 10/100Base TX to Fiber TC3220, fiber optic, CSU DSU, T1, T3, Multiplexers, Modems, Converters, Video, SONET, LAN, Ethernet, Scada, ITS, Security, Teleconferencing

Intrigued that is an understatement. I still keep wondering is the whole 4.5km your property? Because I do not think that anybody will be happy if you try putting you cables on hydro/phone poles. I tried to hook up a motel a couple of years ago with basic cable and ran into walls everywhere. You have to get somebody to inspect the poles if they will hold the cables (in this case it where quite a few more but still), if not the hydro would put in new poles which cost around $5000. Another thing is are you trying to splice the fiber optic yourself or do you have somebody that is doing it for you? In my old company we had a fiber optic project and we ended up buying the cable ready to go with all the ends needed. If you dont know how to splice the cable I would stay away from it. My old boss did not want to pay the cost of a training course nor the equipment needed. Anyway why do you want to run the cable by yourself, is it because of monthly fees? If money is not an issue you might wanna consider an OC12 (622mbs), OC48(2.5gbs) or an OC192(9.6gbs) Line, don't ask me what the cost is tho. But it would be really interesting to know how many clients are on the network in both offices and what they are doing (to determin the network load).

I did one Fiber hook up and test for military, Couple of hundred miles, Bell South and Time
Warner did the hard work, Getting fiber from point a to point b.
