I'd like to know who wrote "Superstar" (1969-1973?) I can't find that much on this song. I know Bette Midler sang it in the '70s, but I don't think she wrote it. My husband and I are arguing about it... he thinks Ruben Studdard was the first to sing this song, and I KNOW he is wrong.
I've also heard that the Carpenters sang Superstar... but I keep hearing "Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby" over and over in my head and I know it's a man. (not Ruben though)

I think he may have thought it was THE song that the Idol winner sings, specifically written for the winner. I knew it wasn't because I remember hearing the song years and years ago. My husband is a dork at times though!
