Music is one of the enjoyments of life and to be used for relaxation as well as self-expression if one is able to produce the music.

Would you mind elaborating a little bit as to why you are asking the question, please?

Thanks!

Well, here is a site that says it isn't;
Music and Singing are NOT forbidden in Islam

and here's on that says it is;
Music and Islam

Wikipedia however, sits on the fence!

Thank you for providing the links to those sites, iAMfromHuntersBar! I wasn't aware that there was any sort of issue with music concerning Islam.

Thanks!

No worries Clough, the only reason I thought about it was because of the Taliban banned everything like that under the guise of "Islam"!

Assalaam alaikum,

Here is a link with boths sides regarding music.
Islamtoday.com: Music – Opposing Arguments

Personally for me, I am most relaxed when listening to Nasheeds or recitations of the Quran.
Nasheeds without accompanying musical instruments are best.

Quran recitors,I prefer to listen to Mishary Al Afasy www.Sabbir.com .I have many Surah's on mp3 and listen to them whenever I need to relax.The best part is that each time I listen I am learning some Surahs by heart.

Manof Allah,
always remember that every deed we do,whether good or bad is counted,which we will be recompensed for.Why not earn some good deeds while you relax.

Wa alaikum salaam
