Are you asking the question because there isn't someone nearby who would be qualified to repair it, or because you think that you can't afford to have it repaired by someone else? I mean, that's an excellent and expensive instrument that you have, and just from my standpoint as a fellow musician, if I really wasn't sure about what I was doing, I would be taking to to someone who was qualified rather than risking myself messing up my instrument even more.
There could be tools that you might need to purchase specially, just to do the repair (if possible, but, I'm thinking doubtful) or the replacement. There are also special techniques to use when taking things apart that have been glued together.
As far as purchasing a new, replacement neck, it is very likely that a qualified repair person gets to purchase those kinds of things at a substantial discount. Whereas, you, not being a qualified repair person, would not have those same privileges. I am a piano tuner/technician. I get almost all of my tools and supplies at about 50% off of the retail price. I do pass those savings onto my customers, even though I know that there are a lot of technicians who don't. If you take your guitar to a qualified repair person, you might be able to work out something where he (or she) could give you the new neck at the wholesale price.
