I am looking into downloading totally free music, no strings attached or future charges. I want them strictly to listen to in my home computer. Thanks bodestyles

There are lots of places that freely and legally distribute music. it depends on what you want. But you will have to root around. Many bands have free promotional tracks available. Some music is in the public domain.

But if you are looking for current commerical music, free would mean pirated and illegal.

Limewire is an illegal site, at least that is what is in the newspaper here. Over 100 college students were served with papers because of the illegal downloading and one the sites used was Limewire.

Limewire itself is not illegal. But limewire is used by pirates to illegally distribute copyrighted material.
