    No sound
I have a Hp Pavilion 542x model which recently crashed. I did not have the recovery discs so I had to boot off an XP pro disc I had. Everything is working fine now except for the fact that I have no sound and I don't know where to get the drivers from. I know the sound card is integrated into the mother board but don't know what kind it is, can anyone help. In the device manager the multimedia audio has a yellow question mark and XP advises that it can not locate the drivers on the web.

    Thanks:)

Drivers for speakers are typically separate (even when they come with the computer). Locate the driver disk for them or download/install the drivers from the manuf. Site. That should take care of you.

If finding the disk or driver site is not a snap, let us know the manuf. Name and model # of the speakers.
