I was just wondering...exactly how do Ipods work? Like when you buy one how do you get the songs on and everything?

Just bought one.

Install the software, plug the IPOD into USB port. Bang! Away you go. Automatically adds the My Music folder or whatever. Drag and Drop the files you want.

Use either USB2 or Firwire, the USB1 port is slow but gets there.

Music is transferred to your iPod through your computer. It will come with a USB cable to connect with the computer and will most likely come with some software to use to transfer the music.

Therefore, you must have music on your computer (whether it is from CDs, or they are MP3s, etc.) to transfer them to the iPod unit.
