The movie is set in the southern states of America. The story centers on a family who live on a plantation. The time scale is 1940s-1950s approx. A man who was run out of town a few years ago, after being framed for something he did not do, has returned to clear his name. There is a fire and he is being blamed again. I think he falls in love with the daughter of the house, but this is not welcome news.

I think some major stars were involved in this movie.
It brings to mind Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
It has that kind of atmosphere.
Those kind of characters.

Someone has told me that Paul Newman was in this movie.
They cannot remember the name either.
It is based on a story by a male writer.
Not Tennessee Williams, but someone of that ilk.
