There is a childrens movie that i really like as a kid and i cant remember the name, its from the 80 or early 90's. About a girl who goes to a bording school or orphanage, and some how she finds a cabin the the woods and her and a local friend try to fix it up, i also remember she almost dies. I know thats not much but that is really all i remember.

I've seen this question on three different sites now and I've searched for an answer numerous times, but I'm not any closer. As was noted on the imdb.com forum, the story sounds very similar to the children's novel Mandy, but I can't find that it was ever adapted for the screen.
