I'm not sure if it was before the 80's or not, but I was a kid in the 80's and that's when I saw it. I also don't know if it was a TV series, a movie or a kid's video series, but it was definitely for kids. Here's what I remember.

It was all done with puppets, and I remember two different plots. One was in the jungle with a lion, and the other involved quicksand. The two main characters would go through this new land (I don't remember how they'd get there, something magical?) but they'd help other characters and stuff, collecting color blocks. At the end (and throughout their travels) they'd use whatever these color block things they found to make things and help them. I remember things like a balloon and a crane of sorts? An ice cream cone?

I searched through this forum and couldn't find anyone else looking for this movie, and the only person who even remembers this show is my mom, who can't remember the name either...
