Neil Morrissey Hippie Movie

I saw a movie recently and Im pretty sure the main character was a young Neil Morrissey. It was a kind of musical with lots of songs by the Beatles etc and set in America during the Vietnam war. I didnt catch the title though, does anyone know?

Thanks but it's not 'Hair' but it is quite similar, definitely more recent. The main actress looks a little like LeeLee Sobieski but would be older than her.
