I can't recall the name of a movie, perhaps from the 1980s, about a scientific researcher who is sent to the Antarctica (?) alone to work. He is dropped off by plane, only to discover that he has only the barest survival tools available to him. He is plagued by mice in his hut, and eventually takes pleasure in cooking and eating them. He becomes adept at making his surroundings livable. The actor is a short, geeky-looking guy with glasses.
