The movie was about this kid who tried going around the country looking for certain letters at stores to spell a word and the word was the title of the move. It was late 80s or early 90s. Thank you

I believe so. It was like a lottery style game he was playing, trying to collect these letters before everyone else to win. Sort of like the pull-off games they play at Taco Bell or something
