I'm trying to find this movie about a marine dude who meets a girl named rose in the diner where she works at and her family owns it, then he tries to take her to a dance where they win money who ever brings the ugliest girl..but then he ends up falling for and goes to war but he never writes to her and then he comes back and finds her at he diner where he met her.does anyone know the name of that movie?its old

I'm trying to find that movie too. I clearly recall it was titled, "Dogface" (referring to the G.I.s and the ugly girls) but it may have been renamed "Dogfight".
